Alyssa holds a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Psychology from West Virginia University and a professional certificate in Advanced Grant Writing from the University of Wisconsin. In her early years as a stay-at-home-mom, Alyssa began creating content on social media as a hobby which quickly flourished into the beginnings of a full-fledged freelance career. Over the last 8 years she has worked directly with several nationally recognized brands and managed social media campaigns for businesses across an array of fields. While continuing her freelance ventures, Alyssa is also employed full-time as the Communications and Community Engagement Manager for Connecticut Arts Alliance, a 501(c)(3) focused on inspiring support for the arts through advocacy and equitable community building.
Her position with the Arts Alliance is what lead her to A Little Compassion, as she visits The Nest weekly for coworking with colleagues. Alyssa was drawn to the mission of ALC because of her experiences advocating for her 7-year-old with Autism and ADHD. Alyssa grew up on the Connecticut shoreline and currently resides in Old Saybrook with her 3 kids.
